Mrs. Amanda (Ross) Brown, 90, of 3106 Kossuth St. died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the Scott Nursing Home, where she had been a patient and ill since 1953. She was born in Montgomery County, but has spent most of her life in Lafayette. She was married in 1894 at Wingate to Samuel E. Brown, who died in 1953. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Hope Chapter No. 5, Order of Eastern Star; Trinity Methodist Church; and Auxiliary of the Grand Army of the Republic. She is survived by three sons, William E. and Roy E., both of Lafayette; Carl R. Frankfort; two daughters, Mrs. John Golden, Sarasota, Fla., and Mrs. Carl Gable, Chicago, Ill.; and two sisters, Mrs. Molly Humphrey and Mrs. Margaret Miller, both of Crawfordsville. BROWN, Mrs. Amanda Friends may call at Soller-Baker Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Services in Soller-Baker Chapel 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Donald C. Wade officiating. Interment in Spring Vale Cemetery. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Services by OES Hope Chapter 5 in funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Amanda Jane Brown, 90-year-old native of Montgomery County, died Sunday morning in the Scott Nursing Home at Lafayette where she had resided several years. Born Dec. 1, 1875, she was a daughter of James and Mary Elizabeth Farley Ross. She was married Feb. 14, 1894, at Wingate, to Samuel Brown. Mr. Brown died about 10 years ago. Surviving are three sons, Carl, William and Roy, all of Lafayette; two daughters, Edna Gable of Chicago and Elma Golden of Sarasota, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret (Maggie) Miller and Mrs. Mary (Mollie) Humphreys, both of Crawfordsville, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a grandson. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker Funeral Home at Lafayette. Interment will be in Springdale Cemetery.
