On the 16th day of July 1857 the home of Benjamin and Emily Brown was gladdened by the addition to the family circle of a little boy and they said he shall be called Jefferson Franklin Brown, whom we know as Frank.

In the light of the old fashioned fireplace, immortalized by the Pioneers this boy spent the years of childhood, youth and manhood. No more beautiful place to be and develop than under the environments of nature. The bursting flower and the budding tree tell of the spring time of life. As the forest when robed in beautiful green invites us to revel in lifes summer sun, so the falling of the leaves, and the fading of the flowers appraise us of the certain decay of all earthly greatness. Then comes the inevitable end, the winter of Death, through these gradations our Friend has passed and closed his eyes to the scenes at 7:25 o'clock pm March 1, 1936 at the age of 78 years 8 months 15 days. In the vigor of life he saw it not good for man to dwell alone and on the 27th of Sept 1879 he stood at the Nuptial Altar with Sarah Margaret Keller where two lives were declared to be one. To them three daughters were born, Mrs. Rena E. LAYNE of Brazil, ind; Gertrude A. SHARP and Henrietta CAMPBELL of Waveland. This wife and mother died Oct 8, 1886. And on Jan 24, 1888 he and Sarah Jane Barr took up lifes obligations together as husband and wife and through the remaining years kept their vows in sacred bond. To them a daughter, and son were born, Mrs. Edith M. Stanfield of Annapolis, Ill and Elvin at home. About 50 years ago Mr. Brown united with the Predestinarian Baptist Church to the tenets of the Faith of the Church, he was ever devoted. He leaves to mourn and follow after, a devoted wife, five children, five grandch a number of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
