Jonas Wilson Brown, for many years a resident of the county died at his home, two and a half miles northeast of the city at 6:30 o'clock Sunday morning of complications. He had been in ill health about 4 months. He was born Jan 2, 1862 in Rock Castle County, Kentucky son of James and Elizabeth Jane Brown. He was married to Paulina Sowders in 1879. Mr. Brown had been a prominent farmer of the county for years. For 25 years he lived in and around Waynetown. He moved to the present residence northeast of Crawfordsville last spring. He was a member of the Christian Church. He is survived by his widow, Pauline Sowders Brown; one daughter, Mrs. George Southers of near Waynetown and 5 sons, Edgar of Logansport; William of Crawfordsville; Garland, Waynetown and Virgil and Ollie who reside at home. One sister, Mrs. John W. Cummins, 9 grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Southers, north of Waynetown at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. John Servies will officiate.
