Priscilla A. Brown daughter of John Newton and Martha Martin Hays was born 21 September 1855 and departed this life 15 August 1916, aged 60 years 10 months 25 days. She was twice married, first to Henry R. Canine 11 May 1873 and to this union was born one child, Maude M. Lynn. Mrs. Brown's second marriage was to William H. Brown who departed this life 15 Dec 1906. To this union six children, Esta Linn of Indianapolis; Bertha McCaw of Lawton, Oklahoma; Martha Elkins, Lulu Massing of this place; Newton Brown of Crawfordsville and Stella Sherrand who preceded her to the world beyond on 23 November 1900. Besides her children she leaves to mourn 20 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, 8 stepchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was a faithful member of the Christian Church up until the time of her death. She was also a member of the Rebekka Lodge of New Ross. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 at the Christian Church, New Ross with burial in K of P Cemetery at Mace. -- kbz
