Dover - Clarissa Ellen Bruce former Dover resident, died at 10 a.m. Monday at Barberton Ohio. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Bruce had been ill for several years. She was born on Oct. 12, 1878, in Montgomery County, the daughter of George W. and Elizabeth Bowman Swisher. On Nov. 1, 1896, she married Charles Edgar Bruce who preceded her in death on May 7, 1957. Mr. (sic) Bruce was a member of the Christian Church at Dover. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary L. Rose of Barberton; four grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. A daughter and three brothers preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon. Rev. Raymond Duff will officiate. Burial will be in the Pisgah Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
