We were told of the death of Ernest Bruin just as we were going to press last week. He was taken to Indianapolis on the Friday before and operated on at St. Vincent's Hospital for appendicitis on Saturday evening. He appeared to rally but on Sunday pneumonia set in leading to his death on Thursday at noon. The pneumonia resulted from the large quantity of ether administered during the operation. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon at Guion. Ernest was 16 years old and when a student in the Waveland schools, he was well liked. -- kbz
