Funeral services for Russell Bruner, 2 Park Lane West, city businessman for more than 40 years, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Powers Funeral Home here. Rev. Howard Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. Mr. Bruner, 67, died Thursday in Culver Hospital a few hours after he was stricken suddenly. He operated the Cleveland Bakery here for 30 years and for 10 years Bruner’s. Grill. Recently he was employed at the Hardee Bakery. Mr. Bruner was a native of this city, born Aug. 6, 1901, to Austin and Lillie Lytle Bruner. His first wife was Idell Cleveland. He was married in 1947 to Jane Allen, who survives with a stepdaughter, Mrs. (Francie) Harold Traviolia of Muncie, and two grandchildren. A son, Phillip Russell, died in 1946. Mr. Bruner was a member of the First Christian Church, of the Elks Lodge, Lodge 50 of F&AM and a past president of the Crawfordsville Lions Club. He was a Crawfordsville High School graduate and attended the University of Minnesota and the American Institute of Bakery at Chicago.
