Darlington – Claudine Branstetter, 72, of Williamsburg Health Care Center, died there at 1:20 p.m. Friday. She had been a resident of Crawfordsville for the past three years and prior to that at Darlington. Her family had spent the summers at Monticello. She was born Oct 18, 1917 at Wingate to Fred and Susie McCollom Crane. She married Robert Marvin Branstetter on Aug 6, 1938 at Rockville. He died in August 1983. Mrs. Branstetter was a graduate of Crawfordsville HS and member of Darlington United Methodist Church and Darlington American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are three sons, John, Jim and Mike, all of Miami, Fla; a sister, Lillian Mitchell of Arthur, Ill; and seven nieces and four nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday in Burkhart Funeral Home at Darlington with the Rev. David Rockhill officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Darlington United Methodist Church or Save the Darlington Covered Bridge.
