Bridges - W.C.

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Friday, 25 January 1901

In the death of our brother and friend, Mr. W. C. Bridges, we lose a man who it can be said of truly was a Christian. Mr. Bridges was a man who believed in living what he professed. He was a member of the Christian Church at Waveland, also was a member of the G. A. R. and I. O. O. F. Our loss is his gain. In living the life that he did he was honored and loved by all who knew him, and in writing these few lines of our brother who has passed on, we would say to the living, pattern more after the life of Mr. Bridges and you will live a life full of good deeds, and die in a good old age blessed by all your acquaintances. Thus ends a life of usefulness. How much better to say this, and as we repeat Paul’s words of “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith,” we say then as our brother would were he living. -s
