Donald E. Brogan, 75, of Crawfordsville passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He was born in Vanderburgh County on Dec. 23, 1940 to the late Charles & Jewel (Meazle) Brogan. Donald graduated from Bosse High School in Evansville and on July 2, 1960 married the love of his life, Alice G. (Bever) Brogan. Donald proudly served in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve. He worked for the United States Postal service for 25 years. He was recalled to active duty in 1968 and 1969 where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross while serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Crawfordsville American Legion, VFW, 40&8, and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Alice of Crawfordsville; one daughter, Kathy (Dennis) Thompson of Parker, Colorado; two sons, Charles (Theresa) Brogan of New Ross and Donald “Mike” (Nancy) Brogan of Crawfordsville; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home with Rev. Tami Mussche officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the service time. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday by the Crawfordsville VFW and American Legion Honor Guard and the U.S. Air Force.
