  • Cut To Pieces
  • Charley Brown, of Coal Creek Township, Fearfully Stabbed at New Richmond
  • A bloody cutting affray occurred at New Richmond last night which will in all probability cost Charley Brown his life. Brown was in town and got to drinking with three young Kentuckians. The party left the saloon and began quarreling. When in front of Jake Burris’ store knives were drawn and the three Kentuckians assailed Brown most wolfishly. His throat was cut, an eye almost gorged out, his cheeks laid open in a dozen places and his breast and arms fearfully slashed. He almost bled to death before the doctors were able to stop the flow and the chances are all against his recovery. The Kentuckians escaped.
