Wingate - A heart attack suffered at 10 o'clock Thursday night at his home proved fatal to John Henry Buckles, Wingate resident. Mr. Buckles died suddenly from the attack. He had been in failing health for a few weeks. He was 77 years of age. Born Oct. 6, 1873, in Hardin county, Ky., Mr. Buckles was the son of Ephraim and Amanda Skees Buckles. He was married Oct. 31, 1893, to Ada L. Krahn, in Hardin county. Mr. Buckles is survived by his wife, three sons, five daughters, one sister, a brother, 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Sons are John W. Buckles, of Stockwell; O. K. Buckles, of Wingate, and E. H. Buckles, of Elizabethtown, Ky. Daughters are Mrs. W. L. Jeffries, of New Richmond; Mrs. Omer Lewis, of Biltmore, N. C.; Mrs. Roy Hoffland, of Eden, Idaho; Mrs. Reginald Van Meter, of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Mrs. Nicholas George, of Washington, D. C. Mr. Buckles' sister, Mrs. Richard Scott, lives in Lafayette and his brother, A. O. Buckles, is a resident of Lineville, Ky. The body will remain at the Grenard and Servies Funeral home where funeral services will be held at 3:30 o'clock, Sunday afternoon. Burial will take place in the Greenlawn cemetery. Friends may call at the Grenard and Servies funeral home between the hours of 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon and 8 o'clock Saturday evening.
