Mrs. Salome Burk, who died at her residence on East Main street yesterday afternoon, was born in Butler county, Ohio, May 27, 1819. Her name was Salome Line, and on April 10, 1834, was married to John W. Burk. They moved to Crawfordsville June 1, 1852, where they have resided ever since. The deceased had been in poor health for three years and about five weeks ago took down with a complication of diseases from which she was never able to rally. She leaves a husband and eight children, five girls, and three boys, one of the girls being Mrs. E.B. Curtis. Mrs. Burk was a kind and indulgent woman both to children and husband, and the family have the sympathy of the community for the loss of one so beloved as she. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock from the residence on east main street. Rev. W,D. Owen assisted by Rev. E.B. Thompson will officiate. The interment will take place at Oak Hill cemetery. - thanks to Kim H

Mrs. Salome B. (Line) Burk, wife of John Burk, died yesterday afternoon after a severe illness of about six weeks. She was born May 27, 1819, in Butler county, Ohio, and consequently was a little over 64 years of age. She was married to her now bereaved husband April 10, 1834, and came to this city in 1852. Eight children, five girls and three boys, all living at home except Mrs. E.B. Curtis, are left to morn for a most excellent Christian mother The funeral services will be conducted by Elder E.D. Owen tomorrow at 4 o'clock at the residence. Interment will take place at Oak Hill. - thanks to Kim H
