Burke - Lydia

Last Thursday about 5 o'clock at the family residence on east Main street occurred the death of Miss Lydia Burke. She had been a sufferer for two years, her pain for the past month having been intense, yet all was borne with a patience and Christian fortitude rarely evidence. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the services being conducted by Wallace Tharp. The interment was at Oak Hill. - thanks so much to Kim H

Last Thursday about 5 o’clock at the family residence on East Main Street occurred the death of Miss Lydia Burke. She had been a sufferer for two years, her pain for the past month having been intense, yet all was borne with a patience and Christian fortitude rarely evidenced. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, the services being conducted by Dr. Wallace Tharp. The interment was at Oak Hill.

Miss Burke spent her life in Crawfordsville and of its usefulness and beauty all who knew her are witnesses. It was one of rare devotion and commended itself by its works. She was a consistent member of the Christian Church and her religion shone no less in the home than in the sanctuary. - and thanks to "S" for this one :)
