W.P. Burkett, a former citizen of this place died suddenly at Atlanta GA thursday afternoon from a hemorrhage. The deceased left this city about six years ago and went south in the hopes of regaining his health. He located in Atlanta where he was engaged as a watch repairer having his plac eof business with Murrietta's Drug Store, which occupied the room where Endictot's restaurant is now. Many citizens will remember Mr. Burkett by "The Witch Hospital" as he termed his store. He was born at Darlington about 39 years ago and spent the early part of his life there. Later he moved to Frankfort and from there to this city. He married Grace Smith of Darlington who with one son aged 8 survive him. Will Smith of Frankfort, a brother of Mrs. Burkett left this morning for Cincinnati, where he will meet the funeral party. It is not known whether he will be brought here to Frankfort or Darlington for burial. - kbz
