LOIS GERDTS BURNETT

Lois Burnett, 58, of 811 Sugar Tree Road, who had been associated with the Weathervane Store here nine years, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Ben Hur Nursing Home. She was a member of St. John Episcopal Church, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at Butler University, the Arts and Crafts Club, Tri Kappa Sorority, Music Club and the Symphony Society. After being graduated from Shortridge High School, she earned a degree at Butler in 1936. She was born at Indianapolis on June 15, 1916, a daughter of Walter B. and Amelia Schaff Gerdts. She married Alan Burnett on Oct. 23, 1948. He survives. Also surviving are a son, David, and daughter-in-law, Kay, of San Diego; a daughter, Elizabeth S. Burnett of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Miss Harriett Gerdts and Mrs. Henry Kornblum of Indianapolis, and a granddaughter, Kimberly Kay. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in St. John Episcopal Church with the Rev. Duff Green officiating. Private family burial services will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Hunt & Son Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. – jlr
