Cameron V. Burns, 50, of 303 Russell Avenue, died Wednesday in Marion General Hospital, Marion after a short illness. Mr. Burns was a truck driver for the Inland Container Company for the past 8 years and had been a Crawfordsville Police officer for 12 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles and Masonic Lodge. He graduated from Crawfordsville HS and was a Navy veteran of WWII. Born May 23, 1930 at Coalmont, he was a son of William and Hildred Cooper Burns. He married in 1947 Marjorie A. Edwards, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Tom of Port Charlotte, FL and Jack and Dan of Crawfordsville; a brother, Dee J. Burns of Crawfordsville; his stepmother, Mrs. Mary Burns of Sarasota, Fla; a half brother, Ronnie Burns of Indialantic, Fla; a half sister, Mrs. Kay McMurtrie of Sarasota, Fla and 8 grandchildren. Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday in Burkhart Funeral Home with Rev. James L. Ranard officiating. Entombment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum with the American Legion in charge of graveside rites. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday with Masonic rites at 8 p.m. - kbz
