Martin U. Burroughs, prominent Democrat today announced his candidacy for the office of county clerk on the Democratic ticket subject to the will of the voters at the May primary. Mr. Burroughs, senior member of the Burroughs Brothers Shoe Firm has for many years been a leader in his party in this county having served as both county and city chairman for the Democrats. He has been a resident of Montgomery County practically all of his life and feels that his business experience and wide acquaintance make him well qualified for the office which he seeks. Mr. Burroughs has always taken a keen interest in civic affairs and stands upon his record in announcing for county clerk - kbz
