LINDEN — Mrs. Lucy J. Burton, 74, a resident of Linden for the past 26 years, died at 4:25 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital where she had been a patient for the past week. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Burton was a member of the Linden Kirkpatrick United Methodist Church. She was born Lucy Wilson, March 18, 1894, in Nancy, Ky. She married Oscar Burton Sr. in Nancy on Dec. 30, 1914. Mrs. Burton was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Survivors include the husband; four sons, Herschel A. Burton of Fowler, Ind., Herbert C. Burton of Montgomery, Ala., Homer W. Burton of Rt. 6, Crawfordsville and Oscar Burton Jr. of Linden; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Helms Funeral Home in Linden, Rev. Dale M. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery.
