Darlington - Frederick R. Butler, 66, Darlington, died at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Culver Hospital following a short illness. He was a former RR DOnnelly & Sons Co employee having retired at age 65 after 13 years' with the firm. Prior to that he was employed by the Metzger Lumber Co. at Darlington for 35 years. Mr. Butler was a member of the Friends Church. He was a past master of the Darlington Masonic Lodge and a past patron of the Eastern Star.

InYork Rite he was past high priest of the chapter, past illustrious master of council, past commander of commandry and a member of York Cross of Honor. He was graduated from Darlington HS in 1925 and attended Wabash College.

Mr. Butler was born Jan 4, 1907 at Kirklin, Ind, the son of Frederick Earl and Fern Booher Butler. He was married Oct 27, 1928, at Bloomington, Ind to Mary Frances Cook, who died Aug 23, 1969.

Surviving are his mother of Franklin; two sons, Ed and Kent, both of Darlington; one sister, Mrs. Dorcas Southworth of Connersville, and a grandson, Rick Butler of Darlington.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p,m. Tuesday in Burkhart Funeral Home at Darlington with Rev. Dale Waltz officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home - kbz
