The Hoosier Democrat of Flora, Ind. says: William Byerly, for years a well-known business man of this city but who located at Milan, Kansas about a year ago died at his home in that city last Saturday aged 72 years. The deceased had been in ill health for a number of years. He was a member of the firm of Hanna, Byerly and Co. but for several years previous to the disposal of their business here he was not actively engaged. Mr. Byerly was a prominent member of the ME Church and was for some time in his early life engaged in ministerial work. He was a prominent Mason. He leaves an aged wife and a number of grown children. It is said that the wife is in a serious condition as the result of her bereavement and is feared that she cannot last long. Mr. Byerly lived in Waveland a number of years and was well and favorably known. He occupied the room now used by Cuppy & Co and was also in business with TL Hanna in the building now occupied by Dillman, but which then stood on the corner. While in Flora he was in partnership with his son-in-law, Will Hannah, with whom he was making his home at the time of his death.
