Evan A. Byrd, 75, of Sun City, Ariz., a former Crawfordsville resident, died Oct. 24 of a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Byrd was a 1919 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and a 1923 graduate of Wabash College. He was a former member of the local First Christian church and was retired from the national Park Service at Mesa Verde, Colo. Born Oct. 10, 1901, he was a son of George A. and Emma Jones Byrd. Surviving are the widow, Ruth; and two nieces, Mrs. Darrell (Elizabeth) Stout of Rt. 1, Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Frank (Leona) McBee of Linden. Three brothers and a sister are deceased. Burial was at Sun City. – jlr
