Died at her home near Waveland, Montgomery County on Wednesday July 11, 1877 of congestion Mrs. Matilda Buchanan, wife of Alexander Buchanan in the 62nd year of her age. The deceased was born in Shelby County KY in 1815. She was married to Alexander Buchanan in 1833. She was the mother of 12 children 8 of whom survive her, among them James and Thomas B. Buchanan of the Indianapolis Sun.
