Mrs. Dorothy H. Burk, 42, 621 E. Pike St, died at 4:06 p.m. Monday at Culver Hospital where she had been a patient since Feb 27.  Born Sept 11, 1916 in Waveland, she was the daughter of Henry and Amelia Rardin McCarty. On April 20, 1935, she married J. Russell Burk who died suddenly March 24, 1958 in California Pellett Mill where he was employed. She was a graduate of Waveland High School.  She and her husband lived in Hillsboro where he engaged in farming.  In 1941 they came to Crawfordsville.  Since 1943 she had lived at her home on Pike Street.  She was a member of Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Semper Eadem (?) Sunday School Class, Circle 2 of the Anna Harter Walter Federation, Athens Chapter OES No 7 and White Shine of Indianapolis. Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry McCarty of Waveland; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Miller of Crawfordsville; a son, David at home; three brothers, George McCarty of Waveland Rev. Charles McCarty of Murray, Utah; Rev. Francis McCarty of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Robert E. Smith and Mrs. Theodore McCalment both of Crawfordsville; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services  will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Bright Funeral Home here with Rev. John G. DeKruyter, pastor of the Wabash Avenue Presbyteriani Church officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. - kbz
