Mrs. Mary Hazel Burk, 63, 210 High St., died unexpectedly early Saturday in her home. She was born Apil 11, 1897, in the Mt. Zion neighborhood, a daughter of William and Eva Michael Stout. She attended Breaks School. She married Jerry C. Burk, Dec. 26, 1931, in Crawfordsville. They established a home in New Market but moved to Crawfordsville 26 years ago. She was a member of the Mt. Zion EUB Church and the Ladies Aid Society there. She was also a member of the Black Creek Valley Home Economics Club. Surviving are her husband; a son, Robert Dean Burk of Lawrenceburg; a daughter, Mrs. Jerrine Witt of Lafayette; three brothers, John and Russell Stout, both of Crawfordsville, and Fred Stout of Alamo, and three grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Maude Cruea, and three brothers, Merle, Clarence and Virgil Stout, preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Henry H. Karg, pastor of Mt. Zion Church, and Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
