Darlington, Ind Oct 1 – Milton Butler, one of the oldest residents of this community died Sunday at his home here. He was born in 1834 in Wayne County and came to Montgomery County in his early childhood with his parents, settling near Gravely Run church. Death was caused by old age and came after an illness of a year. The deceased was a carpenter by trade but had not been in active work for several years. He was married in 1861 to Matilda Timberlake who died in 1912 after the couple had celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Nine children were born of whom 8 survive. Mrs. Butler was the first of the family to die.  Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Anna Rose and Edgar Butler of Lafayette; Mrs. Mary Etta Cutrell and Miss Anna Butler at home; Mrs. Lydia Stanley of North Dakota; Clayton Butler of Ladoga; Arthur Butler of Witchita, Kan and Walter Butler of Chicago. The deceased was a pioneer member of the Friend’s Church and the funeral will be held there at 2 o’clock, Tuesday afternoon with Rev. WL Reagan officiating. Burial will be in Greenland (sic) cemetery. -kz
