LEBANON — Jacob E. Cain, 85, of Lebanon, died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday in Witham Hospital here after an illness of two years. He had been hospitalized since March 1. Born Dec. 18, 1879, in Boone County, he was a son of Clayborn and Laura Trees Cain. He was twice married, the first time to Carrie M. Farrlow, who died in September of 1936. His second marriage was to Anna Wilson of Sheridan, who died in February of 1963. Mr. Cain was the last of a family of eight children. A member of the First Church of Christ of Lebanon, he had lived here since 1942. Prior to that he lived in California for six years. Before going to California, he operated a garage and blacksmith shop in Shannondale for 35 years. Surviving are a son, Preston of Lebanon; two daughters, Mrs. Iola Hughes of California and Mrs. Jenevee Dewey of Dallas, Tex.; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe, and a daughter, Geneva. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Russell & Hitch Funeral Home here with Rev. Calvin Eastwood officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery west of here. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home.--waw
