Source: Crawfordsville Journal Review, March 19, 1932

Rose Martin CAMPBELL was born July 29, 1863 in Georgetown, Brown County, Indiana and departed this life March 13, 1932 after an illness of 4 weeks. She was married to Newton Campbell March 7, 1888 to this union two sons added happiness to this home, John B., living 4 miles NE of the city and Herman D., living on the home farm east of town also four grandchildren surviving her together with 3 sisters and one brother. For the last 40 years Mr. and Mrs. Campbell have lived in or near Crawfordsville. She was a devoted wife, an affectionate mother, a thoughtful and consistent neighbor. A life of almost 3 score and 10 years while these many busy days were not all filled with the brilliant rays of happiness yet she assumed the cares and responsibilities that came to her with high ideals, a cheerful mind and heroic fortitutde. The purity of womanhood and motherhood is not only a blessing to the community but also adds spiritual strength to the Church and sacred influence to our civilization. In this life of Mrs. Campbell that has been an conscientiously spent with so many kind deeds and nobility of character it bespeaks to us the assurance that there are beautiful treasures laid up for her in heaven. - transcribed by kbz
