Advance - Mrs. Opal B. Canada of Rt 2, Jamestown widow of Earl Canada and long-time resident in the Advance community died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Witham Hospital in Lebanon where she had been a patient for one day. Born in Boone County, March 26, 1896, Mrs. Canada was the daughter of James Thomas and Hettie L. Peffley Brown. She was a graduate of Advance HS. On Aug 25, 1917, she married Earl Canada in Boone County. He preceded in death on March 7, 1962. Mrs. Canada was a member of the Dover Christian Church and Thorntown Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and a grandson. Survivors include 3 sons: Thomas L. Canada of Brownsburg, Harold B. Canada of Galesburg, ill and Frank Canada of Lexington KY; 9 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie L. Everett of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Pearl Brands of Rochester, NY. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Dover Christian Church, Rev. Herbert Swearingen and Rev. Raymond Duff will officiate. Burial in Oak HIll Cemetery at Lebanon.
