Dr. J. F. Canine, the well known dentist, died at 8:15 o’clock yesterday morning at his home, 534 Fifth Street. The cause of Dr. Canine’s death was cirrhosis of the liver. He had been an infalid for the past seven years, and over a mongh ago his attending physican, Dr. Pope, thought the he would never recover. Dr. Canine was born in Shelby County sixty-five years ago. After graduating from a medical school in dentistry, he located in this city. This was thirty two years ago and he lived here ever since. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Hutchinson in 1852. Besides his wife Dr. Canine leaves three children; Dr. C.E. Canine, of this city; Dr Hal Canine, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Schipp, who married a banker of London, England and whois at present in Switzerland. Mrs. Schipp will not return to America. She has not yet hear of her father’s death. Dr. Canine was a prominent man, a member of the Dental Association, and was at one time a member of the School Board. The Dental Association and the Louisville Lodge of Masons will have charge of the funeral. Which will take place from the house at 3 o’clock this afternoon. The burial will be in Cave Hill

Mrs. Isaac Wilhite has been apprised of the death of her brother, Dr. J. F. Canine, of Louisville, Ky., in the 65th year of his age. Dr. Canine formerly resided here and was engaged in the practice of dentistry with Dr. Galey. Some twenty years ago he removed to Louisville, where he gained a large practice. - s
