John Canine, former resident of this city died Thursday evening at the home of his brother, RC Canine in Nebo, Ill according to word received here. Death followed an extended illness; Mr. canine lived here for many years and is remembered by many persons as the custoidan at the old Center Presbyterian church. John C. Canine was born near Crawfordsville, Sept 25, 1843, and was 82 years 4 months and 3 days old at the time of his death. He was the youngest son of Richard and Eliza Canine, deceased. He was twice married, both wives and an only daughter preceding him in death. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nannie Southard of Indianapolis and one brother, Dr. Robert H. Canine of Nebo, Ill. Several nephews and nieces live in Indianapolis and points in Illinois. funeral services will be held in this city at 1:30 o'clock on Sunday afternoon from Profitt's Funeral home at the corner of Pike & Green. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. - kbz
