Canine - Margaret McCord

Mrs. WR Canine died at her home 3 miles north of Waveland on Saturday last after a week's illness. The funeral was conducted on Monday at 11 a.m. by Revs Oliphant and Cuppy, at Union Church. Mrs. Canine, whose maiden name was Margaret Ann McCord was born near Rockville, Nov 28, 1826. She was married to WR Canine Oct 25, 1855, and for nearly 45 years they have made their home at the old Canine homestead north of town. To them were born 7 children 3 of whom Celia, Alice Deere and William preceding her to the home beyond; while Charles, David, Wilson and Bertha are left with the sorrow stricken husband to mourn the loss of mother and wife. In 1867 she united with the Union Baptist Church near Waveland, of which she remained a devout and constant member. She will be greatly missed by a wide circle of relatives and friends. -- kbz

The death of Mrs. W. R. Canine occurred on Saturday at her home, near Waveland. She had been in feeble health for some time and her death was not unexpected.
