New Market -- Mrs. Alice Canine, 76, died at 12:30 o'clock Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Brown near Parkersburg. She had been ill for several weeks. Mrs. Canine was born near New Market May 16, 1875 the d/o Jeremiah and America Davis Stilwell. She was marr Oct 29, 1899 to Robert Lee Canine. Mrs. Canine was a member of the Waveland Baptist Church. Her residence was near Freedom, just north of Waveland, but she had been with her daughter since her illness. Mr. Canine died in 1947. Survivors include the daughter; another daughter, Mrs. Thelma Smith of near New Market; a son, Rev. David Canine, Blanchester, Ohio and a brother, George A. Stilwell of New Market. Preceding Mrs. Canine in death in addition to her husband,were one son, four brothers and four sisters. Funeral arrangements were incomplete Monday morning. The body will be at the Noble Reeves Funeral Home in New Market where friends may call.  - kbz

Mrs. Alice CANINE was 76 died at 12:30 o’clock Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Brown near Parkersburg. She had been ill several weeks. Mrs. Canine was born near New Market May 16, 1875, the daughter of Jeremiah and America Davis Stilwell. She was a member of the Waveland Baptist Church. Her home was on Rd. 234 just north of Waveland but she had been with her daughter since her last illness made it impossible for her to live alone. Mr. Canine died in 1947. Survivors are the daughter in whose home she died, Mrs. Thelma Smith of near Waveland; a son, Rev. David Canine of Blanchester, Ohio and a brother, George A. Stilwell, of New Market. Funeral services were conducted Wed. afternoon at Waveland Baptist Church by Rev. HH Elmore assisted by Rev. David Canine, her son. Burial in Freedom Cemetery.
