WAYNETOWN — Ralph D. Capehart, 77, a Waynetown Realtor and insurance broker, was dead on arrival at Community Hospital at Indianapolis at 10:40 p.m. Saturday after suffering a massive coronary. Mr. Capehart was owner of Capehart Insurance Agency at Waynetown and was also a retired school teacher and basketball coach. He moved to Waynetown in 1930 from southern Indiana and coached in this area until he retired from teaching 20 years ago. He was a veteran of World War I, member of the Retired Teachers Association and National Board of Realtors, member of the Waynetown Merchants Association, American Legion Post 445, Masonic Lodge 302, Order of Eastern Star 435 and Hadi Shrine Temple of Evansville. He was a 32nd-degree Mason. Mr. Capehart was a member of the Crawfordsville Country Club, Waynetown Coffee Club and the Waynetown Christian Church in which he had been a deacon until the past year. He was a graduate of Oakland City College. Born Sept. 14, 1898, at Otwell, he was a son of Luther and Aletha Morton Capehart. He was reared in the home of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Arnold after his mother died when he was still a baby. He was married to Rosalie Bruce of Princeton on July 31, 1926. She survives. Also surviving are a son, James B. of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Pat) Moore of Tipton and Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Shoup of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Talbutt of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
