Mrs. Leona K. Caplinger, 208 N. Walnut St., died Thursday afternoon in Culver Hospital, where she had been a patient several weeks. She was a daughter of Claude and Eva Carter Pittenger and was born July 25, 1907 in Boone County. She married Lester Caplinger on Oct. 14, 1925. The husband survives with a son, Larry, and a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Johnson, both of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Ester McCabe of Lebanon and Lillian Henthorn of Indianapolis; a brother, William Pittenger of Norfolk, Va., and four grandchildren. A sister, Mary Randle, preceded Mrs. Caplinger in death. Mrs. Caplinger was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services are set for Monday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Milo Riggs officiating and interment in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. – typed by Chris M.
