Darlington - Mrs. Maud Carroll, 82, of 304 S. Madison St., Darlington, died at 5 a.m. Monday at Bowles' Convalescent Home at Crawfordsville where she had been the past year. Born Nov. 27, 1883, near Williamsport, she was a daughter of John and Eva Jeanette Kiser Rosebaugh. She attended school in Warren County before her family moved to Lebanon. While residing at Lebanon, she was employed at Addler's Clothing Store and at a millinery store. Her family later moved north of Darlington. She was married Dec. 27, 1911, at Darlington, to Fred Carroll. They resided on a farm north of Darlington until 18 years ago when they moved into town. Mrs. Carroll was a member of Potato Creek Methodist Church, WSCS and King Kourier Sunday School Class. Survivors include the husband; a son, Elwin James Carroll of Lafayette; two granddaughters, Mrs. Harry Berwick of Belmar, N.J., and Mrs. Jerry Wichmann of Lafayette; a step-granddaughter, Mrs. Larry Lucas of Lafayette; a step-grandson, Robert Denny of Lafayette; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bright Funeral Home in Darlington with Rev. A. L. Vermillion, pastor of Potato Creek Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery here. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
