Darlington- Mrs. Minnie F. Carson, 90, died about midnight Wednesday in Britton Nursing Home at Rockville after an extended illness. Mrs. Carson, widow of Ben Carson, resided here several years during which time the couple operated a grocery store. She was a member of the Methodist Church here. She was born Sept. 28, 1873 in Clinton County. She and Mr. Carson were married Oct. 31, 1894. He died Jan. 5, 1959. Surviving are two sons, Brenton of Lafayette and Ralph of Tangier; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Remley of Racine, Wis.; two brothers, Lawrence White and Arthur White, both of Thorntown; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John; and two daughters Celia and Vergie. The body was taken to Williams Funeral Home at Colfax where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. James E. Byrd will officiate. Interment will be in Plainview Cemetery near Colfax. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after noon Monday
