Ulysses Grant CAVE, former Union Twp. Trustee and one time teacher in the Montgomery Co. schools died at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at his home, 601 Crawford St. He had been in failing health six months and critically ill two weeks. Born in Clark Co, Missouri, Mr. Cave was the son of James E. and Charlotte Kious Cave, both natives of Crawfordsville. He married Mary Virginia Sayers April 11, 1900. A resident of Crawfordsville most of his life and an ardent Republican, Mr. Cave engaged in farming before entering politics. He served as Union Twp Trustee 12 years. In addition he also taught school for several years. Mr. Cave was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Kenneth a member of the city police department and Robert also of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ramsey a teacher at the Tuttle School; a sister, Mrs. Caroline SAIDLA, of Darlington; a granddaughter, Judith Ann Cave and several nieces and nephews. Besides the parents, a daughter preceded him in death. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. - kbz
