Cain - Lois Uhler

Mrs. Lois Louise Cain, 61, of the Garfield area, died late Sunday afternoon at Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis, where she had been a patient a short time. She was a member of the Pleasant View Church and the Smartsburg Home Demonstration Club. A native of Boone County, she was born Aug. 27, 1905, a daughter of Charles and Icy Couch Uhler. She married Joseph B. Cain Nov. 26, 1921, in Lebanon. Surviving are a son, Clayborn Y. of Rt. 1; two granddaughters, Mrs. Roger Simak of Downers Grove, Ill., and Charlene S. Cain of Rt. 1; a grandson, Clayborn Y. Jr. at home; a great-granddaughter, Leah Beth Simak at home; a brother, Clifford Uhler and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Cain of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 23, 1963, and an infant son. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bright Funeral Home here with Rev. Howard F. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. – jlr
