Clarence Calder, 89 of 148 Shayne Drive, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in his home.  He retired from farming in 1970, moving from his farm southeast of Waynetown to Crawfordsville in 1961.  He was a veteran of WWI and attended schools in Kentucky. His memberships included Waynetown Christian Union Church and Waynetown American Legion Post 445.  Mr. Calder was born March 2, 1894 in Polaski County, Ky, a son of John Thomas and Sarah Jane Young Calder.  He was married to Norma Davis of Waynetown on Aug 29, 1923.  She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert of Jamestown and Curtis of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Lester (Margaret) Bell of Rt 4; a sister Mrs. Minnie Leigh of Jeffersonville; 12 grandchilren and and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.  Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Jack Austin officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Austin officiating.  Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.  Friends may call after 4 pm. Friday at the Funeral home.
