John L. Goben received a telegram this afternoon from Waveland announcing the death of Judge Burford’s sister, Mrs. J. C. Canine. The funeral is tomorrow at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Elizabeth Canine died Friday at noon of a complication of typhoid fever and other diseases, being ill three weeks. Her age was 34 years. She was the only daughter of James and Elizabeth Burford, and was married to John c. Canine at the age of 16, and was the mother of five children, Tyre, Harry and little Ben, Harrison, aged 2 years, and two girls, Rosa and Sallie. All who knew her sincerely mourn her untimely death. The funeral occurred this afternoon at 2 o’clock, being conducted by Rev. J. H. Oliphant and Rev. Mr. Knowles, after which the remains were laid to rest in the new cemetery.
