Crawfordsville, Feb 11 – William C. Carr,  former mayor Crawfordsville, and for years a building contractor here is dead at his home on East Main Street, following an illness of several months. Mr. Carr who was born in Jackson County came to Montgomery County more than 40 years ago. While mayor he was instrumental in the erection here of the city municipal electric light plant of which he also was the first superintendent. He served also on the city school board. He was a member of the Masons, Odd Fellows and Knight of Pythias. For the last few years Mr. Carr had been in the contracting business here with is son, Lucian W. Carr under the name of Carr & Son. The widow, one son and one grandson survive. - kbz

Samuel Carr received a telegram Sunday announcing the death of his cousin, William C. Carr, at Crawfordsville, Ind Saturday night, following an illness of sevearl months. He was the youngest son of Col. George W. Carr and spent his early years at the old Carr farm in his township, later going to Crawfordsville wher ehe married Miss Noel Pruitt and to which union was born one son, LW Carr. He became interested in the lumber and planning mill industry and with his son formed the company known as WC Carr and Son, doing structural engineering and contracting.  He was a man whose honor and integrity were above reproach and his fine humor and intelligence commended him to all with whom he came in contact. His death will be deeply mourned by many relatives and friends in Jackson County. He was about 70 years of age.
