EARNEST CEDARS

Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal Tuesday Oct 29, 1918

- Waynetown, Oct 29 - Saturday afternoon a message came to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cedars, announcing the death of their son, Earnest. He was in a cantonment at Long Island, NY and contracted influenza pneumonia and on last Saturday his parents were called to his bedside. They left him Tuesday thinking the danger past, but Thursday another message came telling them of his critical condition and on Saturday, Oct 26 another message was received telling of his death. Earnest was 19 years of age and enlisted July in the Medical Corps. He was the youngest son of Frank & Edith Geigner Cedars and is survived by his parents and one brother, Verne. The family has the deepest sympathy in their bereavement. No arrangements have as yet been made for the funeral. -- kbz
