Mrs. Bessie Chadwick, 64, resident of 209 S. Washington the past 20 years, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday (Sept. 13, 1969) at her home. She had been ill several years and bedfast the past five weeks. A native of Monteagle, Tenn., she was born March 4, 1905, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thornton. Mrs. Chadwick was raised in a Catholic Orphanage and lived in Tennessee for 16 years. She was married Dec. 21, 1952 at Crawfordsville, Ind., to Ward Chadwick. Surviving is a sister-in-law, Mrs. Refa Rutan, Crawfordsville, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter and four brothers and sisters. The body is at Pape Memorial Funeral Home where visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Leo L. Bates will officiate, with burial in Mace Cemetery …. – jlr
