Mrs. Lillie Chasteen, age 47 years died Sunday night at 901 E. Elmore Street, Sunday night following an illness of five weeks of complications. She was born in Bloomington March 31, 1880, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Chasteen (sic – since her brother is Homer Stevens believe this is incorrect). She was married to Charles Chasteen, five children being born to this union. Four of the children preceded the mother in death. Mrs. Chasteen was a member of the Bloomington Baptist Church and was very active in its work. Deceased is survived by the husband, one son, Charles, Jr of Indianapolis; one brother, Home Stevens of Bedford and one half-brother, Morris Stafford of Roachdale. The funeral services will be conducted form the Memorial Presbyterian Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. EA Arthur officiating.  The burial will be made in the Oak Hill cemetery. – kbz
