Richard Chasteen, aged 80 years,, died at 6 o'clock, Monday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jasper Goble, of paralysis. Mr. Chasteen was born in Scott county, Indiana, August 27, 1844, the son of James and Betty Chasteen. He married Eliza Johnson, January 20, 1870, and took his second wife, Electra Wells, February 20, 1920. Surviving are the wife, and two daughters, Mrs. Rose Platt of Anderson and Mrs. Hattie Goble; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; three brothers, Ephraim, George and Allie, all of Scottsburg, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Nan Baxter of Crothersville and Mrs. Rachael Baxter of Bedford and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the home of Mrs. Goble, 809 Danville avenue, at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
