Harry CHENAULT

Source: Waveland Independent Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana Dec. 28, 1928

Harry, the second child of Myers and Ellen Chenault, was born July 31, 1881. At the age of 17 he united with the Freedom Baptist Church near Waveland having never changed his membership but having contributed his interest and support to the Church to which his wife belongs. When he was 23 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Josephine Straughan, who passed away March 23, 1916. On the day of May 29, 1923 he was again united in marriage to Carrie Helen Greene, daughter of Mrs. Ellen Greene, with whom he was living at the time of his death. For many months he has suffered ill health uncomplaining and on the evening of Dec 23, 1928 after spending a most delightful day with his family and friends he was stricken with apoplexy from which he never rallied and passed away at one o'clock in the morning of Dec. 24th at the age of 47 years, 4 months and 22 days. He suffered no pain. His going was easy, peaceful and quiet and although the nature of his death was not unexpected by his family the shock is most severe. He leaves in sorrow his wife and her mother, of Oxford, and sister, Mrs. A.C. Evans of Waveland and his brother, Hobert of Cincinnati, two nieces, Miss Gladys Evans and Baby Jaqueline Chenaualt and one nephew, Robert Parks Chenault. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Hugo at the late residence at 10 o'clock Wed. morning after which the body was brought to Waveland for interment by his desire. Eight cars of friends from Oxford, two from Indianapolis and many from other places accompanied his body to its resting place. - kbz
