Raymond Chesterson, 69 of Rt. 3, died suddenly Monday evening in his home. He was born May 8, 1901 near Linnsburg to William and Rinda Monroe Chesterson. Mr. Chesterson was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Fundamental Fellowship Organization. He retired from Mid States Steel & Wire Co in 1964 after 41 years of employment. He attended Linnsburg school. Surviving are his widow, Ethel; two daughters, Mary Jane Chesterson of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Fred Lahr of Martinsville; three stepchildren, Mrs. Jean Stewart of Crawfordsville, Jon Harkrider of Oklahoma and James Harkrider of New Mexico; two sisters, Mrs. Mary King of Whitesville and Mrs. zola canada of Mechanisburg; a brother, Damon Chesterson of Ladoga; three grandchildren and 18 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by Rev. CD Strother, Rev. Dick Baker and Rev. Carlisle Scott in Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday. - kbs
