The funeral of Mrs. Sarah E. Claypool, who died Sunday morning (5 January) at 3 o'clock at her home on West College Street was held at the home at 10 o'clock this morning. Rev. J. Milton William conducted the services. Mrs. Claypool's body was taken on the 12:30 Northwestern Interurban Car to Frankfort for interment in Greenlawn Cemetery of that city. Mrs. Claypool's death was due to pneumonia and lagrippe with which she had been ill for two weeks. She was the daughter of Alexander and Harriet McClure (note: born 24 October 1840 in Montgomery County). Her husband was James R. Claypool who has been dead a number of years. Mrs. Claypool formerly resided in Frankfort but has lived here for the past few years. She leaves six sons: Melvin and Newton are engaged in the piano business in this city and Edgar also lives here on West College Street. One son is in Indianapolis and two others in Frankfort. Mrs. Claypool was a devout member of the Methodist Church holding her membership at Frankfort. - transcribed by kbz
