Henry Clements, aged 70, died at his home, 907 E. Market Street at a few minutes before midnight Tuesday. He had been ill for nearly two years but his condition had not been serious for only about a month. Mr. Clements was born in Ireland Nov 1842. He came to this country in 1866 and later in the same year came to this city. He was a contractor and in the early days built many of the first roads in this county. Mr. Clements is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary [nee: Hamilton] Clements and five children, Harry Clements of Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Jennie Dodds of Greecastle, and Frank, John and Charles Clements residing in this city. Funeral services will be held from the late home at 2:30 Thursday afternoon and will be in charge of Rev GL Stine, pastor of the First United Brethren Church. Interment will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery.
